Wonderful workshops at Netherfield Primary School

A massive thank you to Ms Gray for inviting me to work with Y2 and Y3 for two brilliant days. I really enjoyed my visit to Netherfield Primary School near Nottingham. The Year 5 and 6 children had so many questions about Jacob's War! I hope I'll return soon!

Friends of Chernobyl's Children

I'm delighted to offer my support to Friends of Chernobyl's Children. This Wednesday, 25th June, a group of 12 children from Belarus will be visiting Osmotherley Primary School, in North Yorkshire, who I visited recently.

The children are all from very poor homes in an area of southern Belarus which continues to be affected by the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986. They are with the local charity 'Friends of Chernobyl's Children'.

Please visit their website for more information on how to offer your support.

War time workshops at St Peter's in Brotton

My visit to St Peter's CofE Primary School yesterday produced some of the best wartime workshops ever!

Year 5/6 pupils used their coursework, research and family knowledge to produce some fantastic 'Jacob's War' stories.  The performances were brilliant.

Special thanks has to go to Harvey for sharing what his grandad's uncle experienced in the torpedo room of a British submarine during WW2.
