How to get young children interested in reading
Inspiration on our doorstep! Creative Writing Workshops
As the Yorkshire Dales has provided me with so much brilliant inspiration for my books and blogs I have decided to use 'Inspiration on our doorstep’ as the theme for these workshops. The Dales have been inspiring artists, musicians and authors for centuries and I am sure that they will provide inspiration for students on these courses.
Numbers on each course will be limited to a maximum of twelve and participants are not only asked to bring some examples of their writing but to join in and contribute. We will start with how to plan and organise writing a story, how to develop characters and use dialogue to best effect. Different genres will be discussed. The whole process of how to get a book published will be covered as will how to work with other authors, editors and publishers to develop your project. The course will culminate with a lively question and answer session which is always a lot of fun!
The aim of these courses are to encourage creative writing, to start to put on paper that story you always wanted to tell the world and to have fun in a stunning place! There will be no tests or pressure to produce results!
The courses will run from 10am to 4pm each day and include morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea.

The Yorkshire Times feature Creative Writing Workshops
North Yorkshire writer Robert Bullock admits that the Yorkshire Dales
has always provided plenty of inspiration for his writing; "My Noah Ramsbottom
stories for young children couldn't be more inspired by the beautiful
Dales features and personalites! The adventures are even set in a cave
halfway up a limestone scar and features a character who resembles my
own Grandad Fred!"
But after a year of visiting schools up and down the country with his inspirational literacy workshops, Robert has decided to stay put this summer and host a series of creative writing workshops for adults in Clapham Village Hall which he hopes to take to other locations around the county.

Bientôt Sam Marsh and the Battle of the Cloudships
Furieux après sa défaite par Sam Marsh et l'US Navy, le mal Herr Krater est déterminé à venger la défaite de ses réservoirs d'araignée lors de la bataille des îles Lofoten. Dans le même temps, il a également l'intention fl attention Washington, DC!
Krater a construit une fl otte de cloudships immenses avec l'attaque de soucoupe ghters fi et aux yeux rouges skelibots à fl y eux. Il est laissé à Sam Marsh, pour l'arrêter.
Une bataille ciel au-dessus de l'Amérique du coup d'envoi, comme cloudship se dresse contre cloudship dans la lutte le plus grand de la famille des millénaires. Si Sam perd, cela signifie l'anéantissement total de l'Est des États-Unis!

NEW WORKSHOPS FOR EARLY YEARS!
From this term I am introducing NEW puppet based literacy workshops for Early Years children. Using Noah Ramsbottom and the Cave Elves, Noah's adventure in the dinosaur world is told and children are encouraged to write, draw and create their own Diplodocus, T-Rex, Flying Maching, even their own Noah and Littleplod!

The dates for the first two of these two day courses for will be:

Please give to Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
Each
year this sanctuary takes in more than 500 abandoned or neglected
animals, from dogs, cats, rabbits, budgies and ferrets to horses, pigs
and goats. But the current
economic climate has taken its toll, resulting in a decline in
charitable donations, increased bills and more animals than ever finding
their way to the Sanctuary as the ‘squeeze’ hits their owners.
