In the historical surroundings of Malham Tarn understand why over the years great artists, musicians and writers have been influenced by the natural splendour of the Yorkshire Dales.

Enjoy leisurely meanders around the grounds of the Field Centre watching and listening to the wildlife, it's all here, six species of fish and White Clawed Crayfish, ducks, Moorhens and Coots, various kinds wading birds, birds of prey and even a resident family of otters!

Walking further afield the imaginations of the group will be fired up by the ancient Malham Cove, once the Niagara of the Dales, and immense roofless cavern of Gordale Scar.

With such a variety of historical, geological and geographical splendours pupils can't fail to be inspired by this treasure trove on their doorsteps as Robert encourages them to use their life experience and environment to write in whatever genre they feel they want to work in, children's fiction, short stories for adults or perhaps even poetry.

Robert Bullock is a children's author, freelance writer and award winning blogger. He has had five books published. Over the past three years he has taken his inspirational workshops to schools, libraries and community groups across the UK firing up the imaginations of everyone who joins in and getting them to share the stories they always wanted to tell!
